IOT or the Internet of Things Smart City Catalyst can help find the right technology that is market mature and ready to be implemented. IOT has a broad application that can really enhance our insight into what’s happening around us. In the first implementations there has been a great focus on environment and smart reading in the supply sector. At Smart City Catalyst we see a broad application that can provide a helping hand in areas where collection, reading, image, quality and area security needs. The new is not that it can be done or that it’s in real time but that the logic can be run on the device as it is actually a mini computer. which is connected to the outside world via known technologies. There are a lot of platforms, hardware types and standards that are wandered around to achieve consensus, but it can be difficult for a vendor to have all the features you want in your solution as there are also almost the same amount of vendors. The need for these technologies has resulted in the “low power” network infrastructure that these devices use because power may have limited accessibility for the individual device due, inter alia, to its physical location. However, we emphasize the importance of having a good management and knowledge of the systems as they are also one of the weakest parts of the infrastructure. They are physically compressed and must be serviced, data input can be manipulated at the sensor level and no secondary system has been made that can take over if a sensor network becomes compressed.
